AI is not a black box when you have a paper trail. In the legal sector, "we do not know why the model said that" is not a valid defense.

True accountability starts with automated, tamper-resistant logging. If you cannot trace the input, the prompt, and the human intervention that led to an output, you are not just managing a tech stack; you are managing a liability.

Here is a model clause to ensure your AI systems are built for scrutiny from day one.

Model Clause: AI Audit Logs

The Organization shall ensure that all AI-enabled legal systems maintain complete, accurate, and tamper-resistant audit trails documenting, at a minimum, all data inputs, model outputs, decision-rationale artifacts, system prompts, configuration changes, and human interventions. Audit records shall be generated automatically at the time of each system action and verified for completeness within XX days of creation.
